The North Fork Art Collective (NFAC) is an ever-changing, community driven creative entity for working artists to collaborate and grow together. We aim to encourage artists of all mediums, ages, skill/career levels to foster positive growth through the arts in our community. We hope to utilize our creative gifts to bring forth new collaborative projects and ideas into reality. The Collective now has a new gallery space in the historic Fiedler Gallery building at 207 main st. in downtown Greenport. HISTORY
The idea for the Collective was brewing for many years prior to its first physical space by local artist, Kara Hoblin. During her first “Chalk Art of Letting Go” installations she mentioned the idea to the audience of 300 to see if there was infact a mutual desire for an art space in Greenport. In August of 2017 the Collective took shape and "popped-up" in an unused storefront in downtown Greenport, NY. A group of local emerging artists in efforts to bring together the creative community of the North Fork of Long Island and beyond jumped head first into this endevour. In 2018 & 2019 the Collective occupied a different storefront in downtown Greenport with both emerging & established artists and continued to grow a community of artists and patrons. The storefront space was eventually closed due to the success of many members personal artistic journey. The incredible connections and opportunities the Collective provided its artists have helped to propel careers, provided new representation, inspired new ideas and created new unique experiences for our individual members. The Collective continues to have an online presence and now has a new location in the heart of Greenport at 207 Main St. in the historic Fiedler Gallery! The collective was created by local artist Kara Hoblin with the help and support of many local artists & patrons.
“JUST PINK”
Curated by Kara Hoblin. Opening reception was held on Friday Feb 23rd from 6-9pm. The show is on display until the end of March. A celebration of seeing the world through rose colored glasses especially in the dead of winter on the North Fork featuring over 20 local artists from both forks.
